Studio Teacher Connect is a unique site designed to provide assistance for both dance instructors and studio owners. The idea for this site was developed by owners, Chelsea Koenig and Holly DeWitt.

After spending the majority of their adult lives in the professional dance community, the ladies had a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by both teachers and studio owners. Their goal was to create a site that provided a direct link to job seeking teachers and studios with openings in their schedules for teachers or substitutes.

This unique concept has grown into a fully-functioning website that’s not only easy to use, but highly effective in helping users find exactly what they are searching for.

About Chelsea Koenig

Chelsea has been a dancer since she could walk and talk, and has taken class since she was just three years old. She grew up in the Kansas City area and has a BFA in dance performance, which she earned from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Chelsea has danced professionally with Quixotic and Kansas City Contemporary Dance Company, with whom she remains a board member since her professional retirement. 

While teaching wasn’t something she was interested in doing to begin with, she quickly fell in love with this. For the past five years, she has been actively teaching dance classes, and has been performing professionally for the past decade.

Chelsea still resides in Kansas City with her husband, Phil, and her two amazing children, Chloe and Dexter. 

About Holly DeWitt

Holly began dancing at a very young age and quickly turned professional during her freshman year in college; after appearing on stage with Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company. Other professional credits include Owen/Cox Dance Group, Quixotic, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, and Kansas City Ballet. While Holly has definitely learned from experience, she did receive her BFA in dance performance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Additionally, Holly has been teaching dance for over 20 years; giving her high-quality experience and insight into this creative industry.

Currently, she lives in San Diego, CA and is working toward her doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. 

Creating a Brand

The creation of Studio Teacher Connect was not something Holly or Chelsea ever had plans to do. However, after they experienced the struggles on all sides of the situation, they realized how important it was to create a tool where studios and teachers could connect. The goal was to move away from the one-sided information (i.e. just focusing on studios or teachers) and create a community-based website where those in the dance community could come to find the information they were searching for.

What Makes Studio Teacher Connect Different?

If you are searching for a position as a teacher and search on the larger job sites, you’re going to wind up getting lost. This isn’t an issue with Studio Teacher Connect. This site is only focused on dance and the dance community.

Not only is it focused on helping teachers and studios find each other, but it’s also customized to ensure the “perfect” match is found, based on location, area of expertise and other factors. This makes the results produced by this site superior to other job-finder tools available today.
